A classic in the making?

Like every little mini business set-up, when you keep going it grows and things sorta progress naturally after like a hundred set backs. From the various arrangements I made, the all-rose-only with or without whatever foliage seems to be the most popular as an affordable option to the budget savvy client. Is it just me or it's starting to look like a possible Flores Studio Classic rose bouquet? I'm seriously considering this idea. Here's another in the most romantic shade of pink I made yesterday.

House warming

Fate has brought me back to the housing community with the map! HA! Funny how I keep coming back to this place, it's my 3rd time but it's not ordered by any of the past clients. Luckily this one went to a home which was way easier to find...piece of cake!

Reason #101

You don't really need a reason to send someone flowers really. So stop giving yourself excuses to not send any. But there are also a hundred and one reasons to give em. Number 101 here is - Because you helped settle my student card issue and I can now take my exams.

Box it

For most store openings you will find the usual congratulatory flowers right outside at the entrance, standing at 5.5ft up to 6ft at times. That's the norm. Personally I'm not a fan of those sort of flowers on stands and neither is this client. I was more than thrilled to make this and have it in a box with a rustic touch.

Happy Birthday Popo!

Don't you ever...ever use distance as an excuse! This young lady ordered these from Oz land for her grandmother's birthday. Men please take note. It really is the effort and thought that counts. Apparently this pot lasted way longer than it should have. I'm glad to hear that.

For mama with love

This was ordered by a male client for his momma! I made sure it will survive the trip up north. Clearly the pine cones and Amaryllis are a dead giveaway again that this is a very delayed post. My apologies.

Optimus Prime

I admit I LOVED THIS BOUQUET TO BITS! Why was I never given flowers like this??? Honestly I've never made anything this big so it was a great experience. I would LOVE to do it again. Somebody please order this or something similar again. Please? Pretty please?

Buffet flowers

I rather enjoyed making this one. Vase is wrapped with raw Shantung silk. This was ordered for Christmas so this gives you an idea how belated my posts really are. My sincere apologies.

Trial & tribulation

I came across a new floral wholesaler in my hood and I got quite excited. I now have an option closer to where I live and I don't need to travel far to get my supply. I decided to just try them out to check on the quality of the flowers they have. Here I simply made an arrangement with local grown purple roses, asclepias pods & dark pink asters. I'm guessing the pods have been in their cold room for quite some time as it was looking rather moldy and dry so I'm not pleased at all with them. As for the roses best to get the imported ones as local roses do not bloom well and are small in size. Note to self :- call them up in advance to order freshly delivered & imported blooms. :)

When selecting flowers at your local vendors always :
1. Ask when did it arrive
2. Ask how to care for it (if you are not sure how to)
3. Get a few packs of plant food solubles. This will provide more nutrients to the cut flowers & leaves when you dilute it into the water.
4. Strip all leaves below water level
5. Cut stems at an angle. The larger the surface the more water it can absorb
6. Keep flowers in a cool place and avoid direct sunlight.

Some Mother's Day orders

Mother's Day was last week. I took my mom out for some great Japanese lunch and got her a great pair of footwear for walking & posture support. Dad sorta jumped in and conveniently picked his pair too. #splurgingonparentsisworthit . Here are a couple of orders I made.

Christian Lacroix Secret Garden

Orange roses with ivy leaves & pretty birds adorned the tables at a Christian Lacroix Spring fashion presentation luncheon. 50 of these were made all in a day, all in time. Phew! I enjoyed working the the little feathered friends.
